Great studies have been made in orthodontics with the introduction of many technologies. Yet, there are basic principles which, in my opinion, have been overlooked or neglected. This comprehensive three-day course presents a complete *clinical* and *practical* guide to TMJ treatment for attentive orthodontists paying attention to details. The course covers the following areas:

 

DAY 1 & 2 - Clinical Treatment and TMJ

• The physiology of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment.
• Routine stereographic diagnosis.
• The importance of the TRANSVERSE.
• Absolute stability in eight (8) areas of orthodontics.
• Simplifying the complex in various types of cases and examples of:
      • Class I
      • Class II, div 1 and division 2
      • Class III
      • Open bites
      • Impacted maxillary canines

 

DAY 3 - TMJ Disorders, diagnosis and practical treatments

• The prevalence of TM Joint disorders and why they need to be diagnosed and treated. (You are already treating patients with TM Dysfunction even if you are not aware of it.)
• The diagnosis of TMJ/MPD dysfunction.
• The supremacy of muscles.
• The practical treatment(s) of this problem.
• The practical use of splints and physical therapy modalities.
• What to do post splint therapy.
